official new shirt design. I’m really stoked on this.

A little sneak peak at the newest Compassion Co design, thanks to the extremely talented Connor Broussard. Should have these bad boys in just in time for the NYC Vegfest in March.

…but people buy puppies from puppy mills because they want ‘cute’ breeds. Seriously, why is there a boston terrier on this? It should be a mutt, not a hot purebred dog that suits the current dog fad. Way to miss the point.

Well, fuck. I didn’t realize puppy mills were the only place to get Boston Terriers. brb let me return our adopted Boston real quick and get a mutt because one type of abandoned animal is apparently more deserving of a loving home than the others.

Have gotten a few people questioning the choice of the Boston Terrier over another type of dog. Honestly the biggest factor was the shirt color. Because we are dedicated to providing shirts that are organic, sweat shop free and made in the USA, the supplier we found (AS Tees) has a fairly limited color selection that fits those criteria at the moment. As I come up with new designs I’ve been running down their color options and this is the last color available to me. I figured a Boston’s colors would work well with the charcoal grey shirt. Connor, who designed the shirt, originally had a more “mutt” looking dog in there but I made him change it because it didn’t look quite right. So there is that, but I suppose more importantly, yes you are right that one is less likely to find a Frenchie, Boston, Pug or other purebreed/designer dog in a shelter (of course, shelters are not the only place you can adopt) but that doesn’t mean they aren’t in there. As someone who has volunteered at a shelter I can assure you that all types of dogs (and cats) come through there, and they all need homes.
